    This volume contains the proceedings of the third international conference on Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence (PReMI ) which was held at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India, during December 16&#;20, This was the third conference in the series. The first. Bacterial blight of anthurium is a persistant disease that causes plant death and production losses world wide. An integrated disease management program that includes production of clean planting stocks through tissue culture, sanitation, aeration and other cultural and biological control methods has reduced disease incidence to less than 5% on well-managed anthurium farms.

      The shaded anthurium is a rare variety, which attracts people easily. It has an attractive yellow and white spandex. It is a perfect mixture of red and white. The diameter of this flower is not more than 14 to 16 centimeters. The flower looks very attractive because of the shaded pink and red color, which is spread all over the flower. Bengal gram is affected mainly by wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri), blight (Mycosphaerella pinodes) and rust (Uromyces ciceris-arietini). The main diseases of pigeon pea are wilt (Fusarium oxysporum) and Phytophtora stem blight (Phytophthora drechsleri f. sp. cajani).

    Anthurium, genus of tropical American herbaceous plants, comprising about species in the arum family (Araceae), many of which are popular foliage plants. A few species are widely grown for the florist trade for their showy, long-lasting blossoms, which consist of colourful leathery, shiny.
